Every penny donated to the Arizona Tortoise Rescue goes directly towards the feeding, heating, housing, and overall care of the tortoises. Your contributions are valued and appreciated!
I founded the Arizona Tortoise Rescue in 2012 when it became apparent there was a massive need for tortoises in need of qualified, loving homes. I saw that other rescues were severely overcrowded and in most cases probably worse off than where they came from. I knew there had to be a better alternative to the overcrowded rescues and the Arizona Tortoise Rescue was born. We are not a traditional rescue and don't have a single rescue location. A better way to think of the rescue is a collaboration of community coming together to care for and house tortoises in need and the Arizona Tortoise Rescue is the organization and driving force behind it. We lease land all over the Valley (Phoenix Area) in order to meet the demands of the tortoises and have friends, family, volunteers, and community trained to cater to each specific specie's needs. With the rescue rapidly expanding and my availability dwindling I stepped down as the head of the rescue but still visit, volunteer, and train weekly. If you have a tortoise in need of a home or are looking to rescue a tortoise, contact the Arizona Tortoise Rescue. Please consider donating to this amazing organization. Every penny donated goes directly towards land leases, feed, vet, housing, heating, and other costs directly associated to the tortoises and their well being.
Note: Please do not contact me in regards to rescues or taking in tortoises, my enclosures are all full. Please follow the link above and contact Blake at the Arizona Tortoise Rescue if you want to adopt a rescue or surrender a tortoise.
